Chinotto

A very special morning for us.  A visit to one of Adelaide's iconic gardens for a meeting of the Rhododendron Society.  I was going to blip an image of the proceedings, but I saw this lovely shrub (which I thought was some sort of  cumquat)  Turns out it is Chinotto (Citrus myrtifolia, the myrtle-leaved orange tree).  It's a charming tree and perfect for a large pot, and I want one.

This Rhodo Society is very good value.  As part of the membership fee, you get a propagating tub, propagating mix, hormone rooting gel,and a ton of rhodo cuttings.  Then you get a demo on how to prepare the cuttings. 

It was such fun, and a lovely group of people.  We now have more than 60 Rhodo cuttings and if we get a strike rate of 50%, we'll have enough plants for the new Rhodo garden bed at OGH.  Several thousand dollars worth. 

It's very exciting.
