Frost graves

This monument built in 1877 is where Meshach and Catherine Frost are buried. They were the founders of Frostburg, where Jill and I got brunch today. They built their home on this site.

When the National Road was under construction, they housed the laborers working on the road. Their Highland Hall became a stop for people traveling on the road. The town was originally called Mount Pleasant but was changed to Frostburg in honor of Meshach. The road through the town is now Main Street.
