Rosenmontag Parade

I wasn't in Mainz for the parade but a friend was and she sent me this Foto.  Apparently Her Maj was a character on several floats this year as was Boris J.  This one shows her with her application form for Asylum in Deutschland.

While hundreds of thousands were having fun in Mainz, I was beavering away in the office.  Having made it in for 6:30, I was really looking forward to going at three this afternoon.

A fateful thought.  My telephone rang at 20 to 3 and when I hung up, it was just after 4.  So much for an early get away...  But weirdly the buses were all on time.  And there were only 2 people in costumes on my bus - and neither of them was drunk.
