The Jewellery Box

You only find out how much you don't know about a person when they have gone and you can't ask them things any more.

We knew that Gill had a couple of reasonably valuable items but we had been  unable to find them until today when we found a very nice locked jewellery box hidden away in a cupboard.  Inside we found things of immense sentimental value which surprised us for their previously unknown importance to Gill, and other items of more material value.  We also found a pice of paper with her funeral instructions, although we have no idea how old they are.

James and I have also planned most of the funeral outline and the funeral director came to visit us so the date of 12 March is set.

We also had a visit from the estate agent and have spent time today tidying up so photos can be taken tomorrow.

The funeral directors have collected Gill's body from Worcester now and she has been taken to their premises in Smethwick.  James  (Gill's eldest son ) and  I will be going to see her there tomorrow.  James really wants to go to see his mom as soon as possible.  I am so proud of him.  He is doing a wonderful job and we tell each other regularly that we love each other.

Please tell those you love how much you love them - often.
