Canal (well river) skating

Every winter since we moved to The Netherlands it has frozen long enough and hard enough for the canals to freeze.

Tomorrow I will get some better shots (i quickly got this driving home) but I had to mark the event of it happening again. And of course I got the obligatory shot of parents with a pram happily making their way across the ice.

This is the river the circles Woerden and forms part of the Oude Reijn (old Reine). It's very wide but rather shallow. Looks amazing when there are dozens on it!
