Ni & Marlan

Marlan was in Thu Duc for his tutoring session with Chi Hai. when Ni came home, she saw Marlan and immediately ducked into the bike area and hid there. for a whole hour she stayed there. and then i came out to call her in, but she refused. her grandma, Co Tu, called her in, pulled on her, dragged her, but she clung on to the bike and wouldn't come in. it was a bit silly seeing my aunt pulling on Ni and played a little game of tug-o-war. Marlan came out and she backed herself into a corner. he tried to get her to come in, but she clung onto the bike even harder. Marlan was entertained by the ridiculousness of it all.

at lunch time, Co Tu called her in to eat but she refused. so Co Tu brought her food outside and Ni ate in the bike area. when she's thirsty, she ran quickly across the entrance, where Marlan and I sat, and grabbed water from the jug Co Tu left outside for her students, and she ran back to her corner after she got water. the picture is of Ni eating her lunch with her cup of water on the bike.

Ni didn't come in until her dad came home. she clung onto him and hid behind him as she slipped by Marlan.

i asked her later about why she didn't come in, and she said she was scared of Marlan. when i asked why, she said it's because she doesn't know how to talk to him. i told her that she can say Hello, but she shook her head and said she's shy. i asked her what is she gonna do now that Marlan will be coming down every week. her mouth hung opened, stared at me with wide eyes and asked why. i told her he'll be tutoring her mom. then she asked me to protect her when Marlan is around. although i'm not sure what i need to protect her from.

Marlan is thoroughly entertained by her. next week will be interesting.
