‘Crimson and Gold’

This chaenomeles always looks it’s best in the garden at the end of February and this year is no exception. Commonly known as quince, it produces hard apple-like fruits later in the year which look attractive and can also be made into quince jelly which is a delicious alternative to jam.
After French group this morning, M and I enjoyed an invigorating walk around the village. Snowdrops almost over but daffodils are beginning to look their best now. Not to mention the crocuses, winter pansies, polyanthus and beautiful blue pulmonaria ‘Blue Ensign’.
