Abstract Thursday - mundane

Hairdressers this morning and then home to do some bits and pieces.  KG had an audiology appointment after lunch.  He was told off for not wearing his hearing aid enough - she was able to connect it to her computer and told him he had only used it 1.1% for the whole year.  He has promised to wear it now!!
thanks to Ingeborg for hosting Abstract Thursday with the theme of mundane.  My object is very mundane - is very useful - used nearly everyday - what is it?  No faffing except for a crop.
