Not just one but two walks!

Sunday 1st March 2020              (backblip)

Lovely sunshine to welcome in the new month ..... still windy though ..... hopefully that means that as March has 'come in like a lion' it will 'go out like a lamb'!

We decided to go to Westgate Wood for a walk ....... a change from just heading up the road.

The sun was shining beautifully as we set out in the car ........ still shining when we reached the wood ........ the first thing we saw was lots of Cowslips waving at us ....... couldn't get a decent photo though as they wouldn't stop waving!

A little further along the path these little Long-tailed Tits flew right in front of us onto the feeder ...... what a treat ...... luckily I did manage a shot of them!

Not the best shot as the sun was rapidly disappearing ....... as we reached a break in the trees we realised why! Bottom Left image! There was rain bearing down on us! Hoped in vain that it would pass us by ..... no such luck ...... so we had a somewhat wet walk back to the car!

As we neared home the sun came out again giving a lovely rainbow (Bottom middle image) ....... some consolation for being rather damp!

By the time we got home the sun was shining in blue sky & the wind had dropped .... so we decided not to waste it & headed off up the road for a second ..... hopefully drier ..... walk!

This little Robin was enjoying the sunshine ....... singing away ...... gorgeous!
Mrs Chaffinch (bottom right) was sitting listening to him sing! She seemed to be enjoying it as much as we were! :-)

We had a wander through Pioneer & Beech Wood & then went up onto the river bank ...... thankfully the river wasn't looking exceptionally high!

Spotted a pair of Moorhen on the opposite side of the river (Extra) ..... do hope they were not planning on making their nest there ...... they would lose it if the river rises again!

All in all a lovely afternoon ...... if we ignore the getting wet!
