There's a light at the end of the tunnel

This morning I went for a walk with the walking group, the sun was shining which was wonderful after all the rain of recent weeks.

We went from Chirk Bank and had a lovely walk along lanes and returning via the Llangollen Canal. There were places where the lanes were flooded and we had to squelch along muddy verges, we  had to be careful of patches of ice too.

This is Chirk Tunnel or The Darkie as it's known. It was built by Thomas Telford and is the longest in Wales at 1200ft long - a torch is a definite requirement as it lives up to it's name!

This boat went into the tunnel but another was coming the other way so it had to reverse out again. The man crouched on the right of the picture is not ill but doing something to his canoe.

This afternoon I went to yoga so it was another busy day - it's a shame that both activities are on the same day.
