Cornfield in the Snow

I pass this regularly [the History Post is on the corner of the field] and have been looking at the lines the corn stalks make in the snow. Today I got down and dirty, well wet anyway, to take this. Still no sunshine and quite raw cold.

Snow white pure enough to eat
birds busy footprints at my feet
heavy grey sky, not even cloud
a row of cornstalks standing proud
a line of misty trees a good mile long
and a blackbird, singing, my favourite winter song
