you said the sea was lovely

The first part of the day was spent in seeing how far we wanted to go up the Goat Fell path from Corrie. Setting off in sunshine, we were soon trekking up in quite heavy and persistent rain. That wasn't a problem as we were all kitted out in our winter walking clothes, but once we were above the snow line (about 400m), a wickedly cold wind whipped up and the walking became slushy and slippy underfoot. A group decision was made that we shouldn't  go up any further (though it's always disappointing not to climb to the top of a hill).

After some nice hot miso soup, the world seemed a warmer place, and later on Sarah felt the need to cool down again. Jess wasn't so sure...
