It may seem odd to blip a photo of a photo, but I really enjoy the pictures from the collection of the New York Metropolitan Museum of Art.

This is the second year I've purchased one of their desk calendars. Each day features a shot of a different piece of artwork held at the Museum.

Today's is a gold beaker of the Sican culture, also known as the Lambayeque culture, made in the 10th or 11th century in Peru.
