Everlasting beauty!

What is it about chopped down branches of trees that can still hold on to their beauty? The bark is just wonderful and then the added effect of the green which I think is lichen with sparkly snow on top. These trees along by the river were cut down some time ago but when you look closely like this the beauty goes on and on!! Wish now however, the snow would disappear.
