Snowdrops and elms

Late afternoon sunshine catching the elms and snowdrops in the glebe at Peathill whilst rooks cawed overhead reminded me of a poem by Edward Thomas of yesterday's Blip
' Over the land freckled with snow half-thawed
The speculating rooks at their nests cawed
And saw from the elm tops, delicate as flowers of grass,
What, we below could not see, Winter pass.'
