Metters Factory

I thought this scene could be anywhere, but the photo was taken outside the Metters factory - manufacturers of kitchen stoves and ovens - that occupied this site until the 1970s. The cheerful locals are watching a fire there in 1934.

Not all that abstract, unless you take the wrong way home after a late night only to be startled by faces from the past.

Rain and storms tomorrow, so the afternoon walk to Botany Bay might be put on hold.
