Les Grangettes

Headed down the Lake Geneva this morning to the protected wetland area of Les Grangettes. (Main photo) We spent the day helping to move logs that had been blown into the reed over the last 12 months as well as collecting any plastic that we came across.

The logs were put in giant nets and a helicopter (see extra) worked all day moving the nets out of the area to a car park. As there were many volunteers today, we moved many tons of logs.

Our area was on an island that we had to access via a narrow ‘bridge’ (see extra) which made it quite exciting. We also disturbed a wild boar when first arrived but luckily it disappeared very quickly! There were signs of beavers in quite a few places.
A very rewarding day.
