Wren's London: St Magnus the Martyr.....

...The church is dedicated to St Magnus the Martyr, Earl of Orkney, who died on 16 April 1116. He was executed on the island of Egilsay having been captured during a power struggle with his cousin, a political rival.

The church was one of the first buildings to be destroyed in the Great Fire of London with it being literally a couple of minutes walk from where the fire started.

The archway at the entrance to church was a walkway to the original London Bridge before it was moved metres upstream. The courtyard to the church still contains structural stones from the original bridge. This fact is actually mentioned on the side to the monument to the great fire.

Thanks for all the lovely and funny comment on yesterdays postcode debate, its good to have a laugh as well as take nice photos, Iam however really looking forward to my picture for tomorrow (not St Pauls again I promise).

Also nice in
