Marlborough (Sunday 8th March 2020)

It was a bit Groundhog Sunday for me today, because just like last week no sooner had I completed my shopping than the rain started. This view of the Kennet was taken on the path between Waitrose and the Waterfront Gardens. By the time I reached the Waterfront Gardens my take-away cappuccino contained as much rain as it did coffee and photography was off the agenda. I had a brief chat with Val before she ran for cover, when she told me that their resident much-loved kingfisher had been killed by a cat.
I returned to the car via Coopers Meadow where I did manage a few shots between showers.

Everly Brothers - Sleepless Nights (recorded 8 March 1960, Nashville TN)
Written for the Everly Brothers by Boudleaux and Felice Bryant, this was nearly the first single by the Everlies after their switch to Warner Records (it lost out to Cathy's Clown) but ended up on the album It's Everly Time!.
