House Music

A few weeks ago we started getting emails from Miss E’s school about a House Music performance at the theatre in Aylesbury. Along with 90% of the emails I get from school I kept ignoring them because it was just some random thing to do with house music. It was only when I got an email addressed to us directly saying Miss E was involved and would be spending all day at the theatre and could we make sure there was someone there to collect her at 10pm that I thought I’d better speak to her about it. She said that yes indeed she was doing it. House music?!!!!
It turned out that it was a music competition between the houses at school and because it had been so popular last year they were doing at the theatre so more people could come.
We all bought tickets - at proper theatre prices! Me and Mr K, my mum and dad and Mr K’s mum. Miss L didn’t fancy it so went to Miss E’s for a sleepover. I hadn’t really been looking forward to it - Miss E was singing in the chorus of one song. Amongst eighteen songs!!
But it was amazing. Proper jaw droppingly good!!!
Three acts from each of the six houses. Rock bands, soloists, girl bands, sixth formers looking like they were on the main stage at Glastonbury. Proper lights and sound. It was fab!!!!
And even better was how giddy Miss E was! They spent the whole day at the theatre backstage doing rehearsals and watching all the other acts.
When they came out afterwards they were buzzing with it all, and Miss E looked gorgeous with make up on. Just enough to look beautiful and not look like she had any make up on. I’m kicking myself for not getting a photo.
Her friends had done it because there’s not an ounce of make up in this house!
It’s going to be tough to get up in the morning!
