Hare

Owling today and yes even in the wind an owl was out. He must have been hungry. Whilst waiting a hare came bounding down the field but really didn't like me there. 

Yesterday was a very disturbing day as someone died in our gateway; not our main drive but the chicken gate. Not an everyday occurrence at chez nous thankfully. Looking out of the upstairs window I noticed the flashing blue lights a little way down the lane and then the Air Ambulance landed in the field opposite. With traffic starting to bottle neck I stood waving my arms to turn cars round wondering what on earth had happened as I could see teams of people working very hard giving CPR. It transpired it was a cyclist who had felt unwell, stood his bike up and then collapsed. A passing motorist had called an ambulance tho' there were quite a few emergency vehicles at the scene. 

He left a wife and five children one of whom called round today for his bike which we had kept safe in our garage along with all his effects. It was quite a sobering afternoon yesterday to say the least.
