Between fen and mountains

Elliott clock

It is not a great photo today as I had the settings wrong on the camera. It does show what I was up to - reassembling an Elliott clock, the Rolls Royce of English made 20th century clocks.  They went out of business around 1970. I met Tony on my circuit who explained why his broccolis are a problem.  He has three varieties, early, middle and lates.  They are all producing heads at the same time, something to do with the mild weather and the wind.  The leeks could not be banked up in November so they are too leafy and green meaning they will not only produce half the weight when trimmed. Other than that, I listened to the news and am worried about the government's response to Covid-19.  They are "following the science" but not the same science as the WHO or the rest of Europe.  Italian doctors and some hospital doctors here are warning of the consequences of inaction.  Who to believe?
