Old forests

Both me and my husband had to be Little John (in Robin Hood stories) four times when we had to balance on logs over watercourses and marshes in a nature reserve, an old conifer forest with 150-200 years old pine and fir trees. So special to walk in a light forest where the trees do not stand so close to each other as they do in a modern forest.
Extra: On a fallen tree, moss and small ferns had formed a heart.
Second extra: We also visited the county's smallest and oldest nature reserve, with between 200 and 400 years old conifers. Amazing to have this old little forest and amazing it is a privately owned nature reserve. A farmer owned and loved this forest and kept it almost untouched and preserved it for the future 1945. And now it is protected so it can not be destroyed.
