Blackbeard With Crane Fly

While I was taking a photo of the robber fly sitting on a Viburnum leaf it suddenly vanished. I was still looking at the vacant spot when in a flash it reappeared on an adjacent leaf clutching a crane fly. Poor crane fly. I’d rather Blackbeard confined his hunting to blowflies.
