Windswept macrocarpa trees

We visited Slope Point today. The southern most point of the South Island.
We have bought a book called “Worth a Detour” and have tried to visit most of the places suggested. For Slope Point the author wrote...” The point is a cold 20 minute walk from the end of a gravel road. The trick is to walk as fast as possible, dress as warmly as possible, spend the least time as possible, take a photo as quickly as possible, and then hurry back to your car.” This didn’t apply to us today. It was warm with a gentle breeze.
This stand of macrocarpa trees are frequently photographed because of their windswept, bent form. They are exposed to the harsh southerly wind straight off the Southern Ocean.
We had no wifi yesterday so I wasn’t able to post my blip until this morning. If you are interested, have a look at the entrance to the caves we visited yesterday.
