To get out of the house and avoid crowds we went to a state park today for our walk with Sugar. The Newtown Neck State Park has few improvements but is a beautiful place to enjoy the great outdoors! We saw 5 people who were leaving as we drove up and a man and his dog when we were leaving. Never met anyone on the paths. No known cases of COVID-19 in our county so far.
Newtowne Neck State Park is a 794-acre peninsula surrounded by Breton Bay, St. Clements Bay, and the Potomac River. It has seven miles of ecologically and recreationally important waterfront. The park's wealth of natural and cultural resources, its historic significance, and its geography and physical resources make it an ideal location for a variety of activities and outdoor recreation. Purchased in 2009, a master plan aims to minimize alterations to the property, so the appearance of the landscape will change very little when the plan is fully implemented. Maryland State Parks are “Trash Free”. Please practice “Leave No Trace” principles and take your trash with you when you leave.
