Good night from Takaka

You are a lovely lot, thanks for all your kind and reassuring comments. We're all disappointed but philosophical. At the moment life goes on here mainly unaffected in every day stuff but wariness and a sort of guilt is creeping when we read how other places are suffering.
A full on day nonetheless- Simone at work, Esme at playgroup, Joe insulating her bedroom, me gardening and Himself cleaning windows. We did treat ourselves to a coffee in Dangerous and I managed to get a copy of Hilary Mantel's The Mirror and the Light, a mighty tome, perfect for social distancing.
And we managed the beach of course.
