It was an interesting day.
Just along from my office is a new building for another insurance company. It's been open for exactly 2 weeks. And today it was empty - everyone working from home.
After being in the office, we were told that as of tomorrow we'll all be working from home. With the exception of the bosses. I don't know why they have to be in the office.
Over the weekend I tested our remote-logon procedure and managed to get logged on. I came home this afternoon to install Skype and thought I was good to go. But the logon didn't work (too many people using it I think). So I'll pop into the office tomorrow to pick up my laptop and then I'll start working from home.
We'll have daily online telefon conferences just to make sure everthing is going ok - a quick 15 minutes will do. But as of tomorrow, I'll be working from home and I don't expect to be back in the office until June.
Oh they've changed the way the buses operate. You can't buy tickets on the bus anymore. You have to get on through the doors in the middle of the bus and the front row of seats is blocked off. Mind you it doesn't make much difference when some passengers still sneeze and cough with abandon...
The good news for today is I didn't need a jacket this afternoon. First time this year when it's been warm enough for me to be jacketless. And it was lovely and warm with the sun on my back.
