Huka Falls

Today we planned to do a waterfall walk, but unfortunately the road was shut.  We diverted to the other end of the road to try and get in that way, but it was shut there too - we gave up and carried on driving towards Huka Falls.

We had lunch in a cafe and then drove up to Craters of the Moon and had a walk around there.  This is a geothermal area where you're allowed to walk on boardwalks around the site, and there is lots of steam coming out of the ground (second extra).

After a cuppa (back in the same cafe - we were recognised!) we drove down to Huka Falls and had a good look around there (main blip).  We watched the Huka Falls Jet Boat throwing people around - we decided not to partake!

We then drove through to our hotel in Taupo, had a walk around the front and then a lovely Italian meal in a restaurant.  On the way back to the car we found "The World's Coolest McDonalds" which has a DC3 plane that you can go inside.
