Waves were excited to see me this morning . . .

. . .  rearing up in backwash against incoming waves.

There was no one in the water and no one on the beach when I arrived about 8AM!   That's a first for me - and probably the beach, too!  Coolish and overcast, rainy weather out to sea.   Stayed rainy and overcast all day.
