Potarch Bridge

I’d a walk today near the hamlet of Potarch situated between Banchory and Aboyne on the River Dee. It was a lovely day and the walking was pleasant.
Afterwards Brodie had a paddle in the River Dee and I admired the granite bridge designed by Thomas Telford and built between 1811 and 1813. In summer this is a popular spot for picnics and swimming and for youngsters to “ tombstone “ off the bridge.
