wearin’...

...of the green

better known as st. patrick’s day - a universal holiday celebrated - in honor of the patron saint of ireland - i was prompted to do a coloring rendition in his honor - during which time i found myself - realizing i had little knowledge - regarding the holiday - so i dug up a few fun facts - to share because - well, just because i thought - it’d be fun - so here we go

st pat didn’t wear green - his color was “saint patrick’s blue” - green became associated with - the holiday after it was linked - to the irish independence movement - in the late 18th century

despite his irish notoriety - st pat was british - he was born to roman parents in scotland or wales - in the late fourth century

according to legend - st pat used the shamrock - as a metaphor for the - holy trinity when he was - first introducing - christianity to ireland

in chicago, the plumbers local 110 - union dyes the river kelly green - the dye lasts around 5 hours

those are just a handful - of interesting fun facts - about our patron saint - however there is no doubt - in my mind there are plenty more - for now, let these suffice to make it...

a

happy day.....
