La vida de Annie

Geranio.

Another emergency flower blip of an emerging geranium flower in the garden.
Day 4 of lockdown. I had a small item (not food) delivered today, and was startled to answer the door to a young chap with cap pulled down over his eyes and wearing a mask and surgical gloves. He tossed the package to me, didn't request the usual signature and fiscal number, and legged it back to his van as though the hounds of Hell were chasing him (not the Yorkies: I had them safely corralled, yapping furiously, behind an inner door). I do wish I'd had a camera handy though, to record some of how the situation is affecting workers here. Can't take any beach or (unusually empty) town shots to record this time, as police are everywhere enforcing the lockdown. Beaches are closed off and guarded to prevent social gatherings, and only one person can be out in a car, or walking dogs (for 10 minutes locally, and keeping away from other dogwalkers). Being an introvert I don't especially miss the socialising aspect, but do miss being able to take pictures around the island. These pre-season weeks are the best times to see unspoilt corners, the nature reserves and museums and galleries. No fiestas or pre-Easter ritual activities in the towns, no processions of the Penitents this year, which is always impressive in a KKK-kind of way. Everything has stopped. Even the sun seems to have given up, and it's really cold. Still, plenty to get on with around the house and garden, where the weeds are flourishing (not in the house - sorry, missed the Oxford comma in there somewhere).
