Roadside Wonders & Terrors

Road Trip -- Day 8.  Heading home, today we retraced our steps from Vero Beach to Savannah, Georgia where we will spend tonight before heading for Charlottesville, Virginia tomorrow.  Traffic on the interstate was quite heavy, with the most astonishing number of cars with license plates from Quebec and Ontario -- it looked like the entire populace of both provinces heading for the Canadian border en masse!

Not very many interesting photo opportunities today -- but here are some classic roadside billboards advertising everything from Live Baby Gators to Dancing Peaches.  That grey car with the missing rear quarter panel tried its best to run us off the road with a determined attempt to side swipe us out of our lane.  Thank heavens Mr. W is an experienced race car driver with quick reflexes and a cool head.  From the condition of that car,  I'd venture to guess this is not the first time such a manoeuvre has been executed.  I thought the sign on the back of the tractor trailer was very au courant in these weird times -- Keep A Safe Distance indeed!
