Pentax

As a young and growing photographer, I felt it appropriate to preserve my father's camera through the best and most fitting method; a photograph. Its optics have helped him see and experience many many years of animals, landscapes, people, places, flowers, and certainly family moments; visions that can only be experienced and preserved through the unique viewpoint of a lens. Through his photographic eye, talent, and efforts, our family has been blessed with countless aesthetically pleasing photographs and memories - some of which are still being honored by the interior walls of our abode.

A brief history:

This camera, the Honeywell Pentax Spotmatic, was given to my father as a gift from my mother who worked at Honeywell as a software engineer - creating and writing software for the space program. This version of the Pentax is the same as its Asahi counterpart. At that time, Honeywell was the active U.S. importer for Asahi cameras until around the mid 1970's. Pentax was Asahi's first SLR (they were a lens manufacturer which started around 1919) to use a pentaprism, from which the name Pentax is derived from.

My appreciation, love, and admiration of history and fond memories are what made this blip today.
