School Trip

Responding to some requests from a few of us more mature and car less campus residents, a school mini bus trip to a local supermarket was arranged for this afternoon. Who knew that grocery shopping could be such an adventure? Salutory lesson noticing how priorities change, and how very quickly it happens.  Anyway,  you will be glad to notice that Marsha (pictured) and I (picture snapper!) have our priorities sorted in finding the alcohol aisles. I will also point out that all the shelves, including loo roll aisles, were totally full and the entire shop was an energy hub of assistants who were working hard to keep it thus.  Customers, some wearing surgical masks and/or gloves, were calm and polite to each other. The shop has installed hand sanitiser dispensers. Reasons to love Turkey #∞

Extras (snapped from the bus):
1. No traffic in Ulus. Really? I thought it needed proof. Rarely seen daytime scene.
2. Too many "gecekondos" poverty laden self built (often illegal) housing in Istanbul reminds me that even in the times of Corona, I really do have much to be grateful for.
