Playing It Safe

Phil and I went for a walk in late afternoon, but had a delightful delay as we headed out, as several of our neighbors were having an interesting conversation at the prescribed six feet/two meters safe distance apart.

Another neighbor came by shortly after I took this, and we all agreed to meet Saturday afternoon about 5 p.m., each bringing her/his own chair and preferred beverage, and set up a convivial circle in the middle of the street.

We are in uncharted territory with the international coronavirus pandemic, made far worse by both the UK and the USA having completely unqualified men as heads of state, in my opinion. It's up to each of us ordinary citizens to do what we can to lessen the impact of this extraordinary global health challenge.

[COVID-19 statistics for Whatcom County today: 10 confirmed cases, ranging in age from teens to 80s, six males/four females; 240 negative results; 1 death.]
