'n Kiekie 'n Dag

Absence

of condensation trails in the blue sky.

Seeing that we cannot swim and parkrun for the duration, C & I went for a walk around the turf field and did a 10 minute core body workout from Moov.

On our walk we had the buzzards for spectators. Enjoying being the biggest things in the sky once more and probably smiling at us being wrapped up from head to toe to keep the chilly breeze out. The same breeze they used to soar high above, observing a world transformed by mankind from a perfect creation to paranoid mistrust.

I am sure there were a myriad other animals we weren't even aware of, watching us with bemused caution. We saw the red legged partridges running away as they always do at the slight inclination of movement in their direction and were startled by a pheasant flying up in front of us with the usual racket. We heard animals scurrying away in the undergrowth, wondering what they might be.

Their distrust of humans is well deserved. Maybe there are some solace for animals and plant life that the smallest of their kind are now terrifying humans at a scale not seen before.

Let us hope and pray that humankind will learn the lessons presented by Mother Nature.

As it was a glorious sunny day (and the breeze died down), we did a bit of gardening. Lots more to do, but it's a start and it was good to be outside in the sun.

We are grateful for living where we do, where we can be outside without being near anyone else.

Liver & kidneys for tea.
