Physical Distancing

Many people are saying Social Distancing is not really the correct term to use and instead it should be Physical Distancing instead. While we have physically distanced ourselves up this hill, it was not for the dreaded virus, it was purely to avoid the embarrassment of anyone seeing us practice a TikTok dance... anybody recognise it?

But funnily enough, most of the rest of the day was spent socialising distantly - there were a few phone calls, a skype video for mother's day and after dinner we watched one of our top bands (All We Are) perform live from a studio in Liverpool. Initially the other two were not that keen but soon got into it and Mrs C even got up to dance, We watched it through facebook via the TV and it lasted about 45 mins. Shortly after on Instagram we watched another live feed of Courtney Barnett and Lucius who hooked up with lots of other singers taking turns to raise money for Oxfam.... including Sheryl Crow, War on Drugs and Kurt Vile... it is still on after about 4 hours.

And for the past 3 nights, I have been watching The Tweedy Show, Jeff Tweedy's wife streams live from their home with Jeff and sons singing tunes/requests etc and just chatting. It is quite a surreal experience, these people we normally see on stage or in interviews suddenly in their family setting teasing each other etc, like they're almost normal?

Anyway, although none of this replaces the real thing, it's like we are experiencing a bit of the future.. probably "da kids on da street" have been doing this for years and we're just catching up? All I can say is I'm glad our internet provider increased everyone's allowance by 200Gb each otherwise I probably would have nothing left to upload my blips!
