Sunbeams

Oilseed rape

I think we all need a bit of sunshine.

The oilseed rape was first attacked by flea beetle but it looks, all being well, that we shall be able to harvest something from this field later on.  I see farmers are on the "critical workers" list during this epidemic.

I have been in self-isolation now for nearly a week, so far so good.  T looks in through the back door every day keeping his distance - the farm business has to go on and I receive the post (bills!) which needs to be looked at and passed on.  I can get round social activity by talking to the neighbours through the window pane or sitting at least 10 feet away from the other in the garden.  So glad and very lucky to have a garden which needs lots of work after the wet winter, and of course the farm which is like an extension to the garden.  I do appreciate that when most people live in flats and houses in cities crammed close to each other.

What I don't understand is the hour at supermarkets when the elderly can have access - the elderly are not supposed to leave their homes at all even for shopping .....   Many more local shops and farmshops are delivering now and have food on their shelves.

Please keep safe every one and abide by the advice.  There is a corona virus victim in our village and he has been really ill - a persistent high temperature for eight days, fortunately for him he is now recovering but is still very weak.
