Tulips in the sunshine

I had to leave the safety of home to post an old fashioned letter.

I encountered only one person approaching me on the very broad pavement.

As the distance between us closed, we edged away from the centre line and I felt that we were two cowboys, six shooters on hips, ready to draw at moment's twitch.

We passed with a cheery hello - me holding my breath.
