An Unreality

It took a long time to fire up the mental machinery again this morning, once more finding myself with no space left in the head for any kind of creativity. I'm understanding that this is currently a very common feeling. The enormity of this crisis is so great that it's impossible to take it all in at once. With each new day, more of the new reality sinks into our consciousness. It's an exhausting remodelling process.

I got a text from the local picture-framers to say that they were closing down for business at the end of the afternoon - for the duration. I decided to collect the photographs I had waiting, not knowing when I'd otherwise get to see them. Phillipa was struggling with her hands from washing them thoroughly between every single customer. And there had been many. Much respect to her for that and also for doing the socially responsible thing to shut up shop.

Walking into town and back, there was nothing much obvious to suggest that there was anything going on in the wider world. Although certainly quiet for a Saturday, there were still lots of people about on the Grove. This invisible enemy we're all fighting remains mostly unreal. That could soon change.
