Immortality

Now I can finally tell people I've been to the infamous Chicago south side Irish parade. It's supposed to be the biggest St. Patrick's Day celebration in the world after Dublin, Ireland.

Matt and I were talking about leaving an impression on the world. He called it immortality. You are not truly dead until everyone forgets you. Abraham Lincoln, John Lennon, Hitler, Amelia Earhart, and all the impressionable people of history will never be dead unless we burn all the history books in the world, cease to pass the knowledge down to the next generation, and such.

I think that, deep down or not, everyone is terrified of being forgotten. I know I am.
