A State of National Emergency in NZ

Today our country was put into a State of National Emergency, the second time this has happened.  Last time was the Christchurch earthquake, this time because of the pandemic.  It gives the government extra powers.  I watched Parliament for awhile this afternoon, interesting and sometimes amusing with them following procedures to get bills passed with urgency and getting a bit mixed up.  A lighter side from the seriousness of the situation.
A lot warmer day so spent some time in the garden, mainly picking up cabbage tree leaves from the wind the other night.  Picked the last of the strawberries and the first apples, along with some rhubarb I have cooked for breakfast. See photo. Also made my first loaf of bread for ages, looks a bit sunk in the middle but will see what it's like in the morning.  Maybe my yeast was a bit old.
The highlight of the day was a clever member of our photography club doing his planned Astro photography presentation for tonight over the internet. Plus since there was no club meeting can now watch Lost and Found.
