Gone to seed...

Dry again today .
Once everything was fed , brought the 52 heifers round from the slatted shed and sorted them out into 3 level groups of different sizes.
Brian from Border Livestock came in at lunch time to see them and take photos . They are now up on their web site for sale. He kept well away from any of us , and now that auction marts are suspended this is the only safe way to sell livestock. Farming has been in similar lock downs before during foot and mouth and BSE , but this is the first time that human lives have been at risk.
Willie back in to finish sub soiling yesterday’s field- again no contact needed.
Finally tonight a lorry load of seed barley arrived in. The lorry was from Aberdeen but he didn’t know if he was heading home yet. Normally he said he would park up for the night and go for a pint and a curry. Not an option now though.
All we need now is the ground to dry up enough to get the seed sown . The start of another season. Life goes on.
