George IV

Went to Ramsgate with a friend today, and came across this chap.

George IV gave the Royal Charter to Ramsgate, so a sculpture is being made to be placed in the Marina next year, which is the anniversary of the grant of the Charter. Its a pretty impressive piece of work, the detail is incredible.

And for you 70's kids, the sculptor is a guy called Dominic Grant who was the lead singer of Guys 'n' Dolls, who had a few hits in that wonderful decade. He now lives in Ramsgate with his wife, Julie Forsyth (Bruce's daughter!).
