Eddystone Light

Looking through my music books - on the INSIDE of Nautical Songs for the Ukulele I found this traditional song "The Eddystone Light"

Extra: Before the edit

The Eddystone Light was a real lighthouse, located on the Eddystone Reef 14 miles from Plymouth off the storm-lashed coast of Cornwall.  The dangerous reef was mostly submerged with only a small portion visible on which a succession of five lighthouses was built.  After numerous ships floundered on the reef, the first Eddystone was erected in 1699,, only to be destroyed four years later in one of the worst hurricanes ever recorded.  It was rebuilt in 1803 and three times after that, the last construction in 1882 - a history spanning two centuries.
