Baby Love 2.0

She's finally here. What a very bizarre time we're living in. But we all managed to forget that today thanks to this absolutely cutie. It genuinely felt like a normal day today.

Jenny's water's broke about 2am. Ash woke us at 4:30 to say they were off to the hospital, because the midwife wasn't happy with her blood or her blood tests from yesterday's appointment. We hadn't heard a thing and there was a whole entourage in the house. We saw Jenny walk to the ambulance from the window and Ash followed behind. That's when I should have put a bet on rather than just saying, I give it till half eight before she's born.

There was no way we could sleep after that. So we cleaned. It was therapeutic. Kiera slept in till 8 am and we had to get her up. After breakfast and getting dressed , Mum and Dad phoned at 10 to tell Kiera she was a big sister. She was over the moon and had to put her teddy's on the call too. I was just out the shower and missed the call but LB updated me asap which gave Kiera her first chance to tell someone. She had been born at 8:31 am!

We then played in the garden for a bit before LB made us Mac & Cheese for lunch. Ash came home just after. Thankfully he was allowed at the birth but Jenny was then put on a ward for the night and due to the current Covid 19 situation no one else is allowed in.

Once Ash was home (exhausted) we took Kiera for a woodland walk so Dad could shower and nap. Then home for a movie (Peter Pan) baking cup cakes for the baby's birthday and dinner.

Bed by 7....what a day. Cannot wait to meet Baby love in the morning and hopefully learn her name. What a time and place to be in lockdown!
