#stuffinourhouse - prime time viewing

I had mentioned last Sunday that I had begun watching various live streams, one of which was The Tweedy Show starring our fav Jeff Tweedy, his wife Sue and sons Spencer and Sammy. Burning the midnight hour, I had watched it live for a few nights when it started at 9.30pm over the pond, meaning silly o'clock over here in Scottish time. It is just fab, unplanned, just like you're joining for a chat with some friends. We get song requests, coughing fits 9it's not corona we are told), jukebox hits, insights, nerdy guitar talk until Jeff is told to shut-up, family harmonies and teasing, and lots of laughs.

Instagram only keeps the videos for 24 hours and having missed one night, I began watching it the next late evening while Mrs C was still up, but The Poor Lassie had to go to bed for work the next day, but Ms H watched while playing her DS and enjoyed it (she's an unofficial Wilco fan). So next night, I pushed the previous night's showing a bit earlier, and then tonight I pushed it to 9pm - Prime Time baby! I'd got a hint of who was going to be on it (as in, it was on the previous night), Nick Offerman of Parks and Rec fame. Nick's a massive Jeff/Wilco fan, has one of his guitars, goes hiking in the wilderness with Jeff, gets Jeff to be in one of his recent films (Jeff has appeared in many comedies including Parks, Curb your Enthusiasm and his music is scattered over almost 100 tv shows and films) and he joined the show for 10 minutes with his wife, Megan Mullally - a funny lady.

I think I've managed to get the show on our evening viewing schedule now. On paper it just doesn't sound like a "thing", especially a "thing" you watch on a wide tv with just the instagram phone shaped video to watch in the centre - like all this technology and we're doing that! Hopefully the time will come for the show to end (i.e. the virus is gone gone) but we're going to be so addicted to this show by then. For the last few nights we've been promised that we will see the actual bullet hole in their house from a stray drive-by shooting a few months ago, but the topic of conversation/songs keeps distracting them... maybe today, maybe tomorrow.

Yes we are fan boys/girls/oldpeople, but it is a real insight to where all the songs/lyrics we have loved over the past 25 years come from - a warm caring fun loving family going through similar issues as the rest of us. Aw.... just what we need at the moment.
