Farewell chicken and thank you.

Sadly, during the night, Chicken went to sleep and did not wake up again. We think she was about 7, had laid many eggs, almost died once and made a remarkable recovery. Lately, she has ruled the roost over our two new chickens, showing them the ropes and definitely being in charge. This morning, they were a little perplexed as they normally followed her out of the sleeping area into the run, they seemed lost without her. However, amazingly, a little later, one of the new chickens laid her very first egg! Such is life!
